Global surf brand, Rip Curl has partnered with leading UK female surf brand Women + Waves to launch a new UK surf academy, further enhancing its support for women surfers in the UK.

The new and dynamic RIP CURL x WOMEN + WAVES surf academy will launch in Newquay, Cornwall this January and will bring a refreshed surf coaching framework and a new PRO level of expertise to the surf coaching weekends, as well as continue to inspire all female surfers of all abilities, worldwide. This will be followed by a clothing capsule range in summer 2022.

This exciting new partnership will allow Women + Waves exclusive access to the Rip Curl PRO surf team, sharing their expertise and knowledge which will help Women + Waves shape the new Women + Waves surf academy events and its coaching weekends and enable the instructor team to deliver the ultimate surf coaching weekend. Rip Curl are also backing the Women + Waves Water Women’s weekends which see all lady groups experience wild swimming, stand up paddleboarding and surfing.

Based in Cornwall, Women + Waves have been delivering UK surf coaching weekends, retreats and international trips since 2019. They have created a passionate, international online surf community who encourage and support all women surfers. In recent years, the company has also successfully diversified into ‘Saltwater Experiences’, which see all female groups enjoy wild swimming, stand up paddleboarding and bodyboarding.

Rip Curl x Women + Waves surf academy first coaching weekend will launch in January with coaching based in Newquay, where the coaching team will be delivering the new winter weekends. Events will be held throughout 2022 in Newquay, Croyde and Wales.
