Surfer, traveller, model, artist, Maud le Car has it all going on and she’s taking over SurfGirl social media today.

We’re excited to see what she gets up to! Here we have a chat with the talented French surfer.

Maud, what are you most proud of?
I am proud to come from my small island St Martin with only 2 breaks and small waves. Proud because I hope it brings belief for St Martin’s young people to follow their own dreams, even if they come from “nowhere”.

Favourite surf spot in the world?
Hard question. Probably here in Hossegor. I just love it here – especially the long sandbars in Seignosse. It’s always changing, there’s a lot of variety, the waves are fun and it’s just a great place to be.

How has surfing inspired your art?
Travelling helps a lot. Seeing different countries and cultures. I love going to exhibitions and checking out street art wherever I go. So surfing helps me experience all that and get inspired. And, of course, in the water the natural beauty of the world and being in the environment that I love inspires everything I do.

Do you exhibit your own art?
I did an exhibition last year to help my mum promote her company. It’s a hard thing to fit in when I’m training and doing the tour – I’ve not had much time. I’ve done some boards and some other pieces but not enough for a fresh exhibition. I’m working on it this when I’ve got more time. I’m a perfectionist so I don’t let people see what I’m doing until it’s really ready. It can take ages. So when I spend thirty hours on a board and then I snap it, people make fun of me. It’s not quite the same on the wall when it’s snapped…

In a film of your life who would play you?
I love Vanessa Paradis! So her.

What are your rules to live by?
-Find what you love and let it kill you.
-Be fearless and make every moment of your life count for what you conspire until what you conspire make you feel alive and happy.

What’s your;
Favourite summer outfit : Bikini
Favourite post work drink : Coconut water
Favourite beach : Mullet bay – St Martin
