Surf Betty’s Festival will hit Fistral Beach on Saturday 22nd August in celebration of women in surfing.

The brainchild of professional surfer Corinne Evans, Surf Betty’s is a fun filled day of free activities on the sand for girls and ladies. Raising proceeds for The Keep A Breast Foundation (KAB), the unique event combines surf lessons, yoga sessions, craft workshops, beauty treatments and live music. Taking place from 11am – 6pm, Surf Betty’s Festival aims to encourage more women and girls to try surfing and embrace the lifestyle.

Entering its second year, Surf Betty’s Festival in association with Animal and The Powerful Water Company, supports The Keep A Breast Foundation helping the organisation to continue its efforts in educating women on the signs and symptoms of breast cancer. Promoting the #CHECKYOURSELFIE campaign on the beach throughout the day, KAB helps prevent breast cancer through action, art, awareness and education.

The perfect way to celebrate summer, Surf Betty’s Festival offers a fun and safe environment where girls and ladies can feel confident wading out to sea to catch waves. Offering six free surf lessons throughout the day, festival guests can guarantee themselves a place on the pre-bookable sessions or sign up on the day for the walk-in sessions.

Post-surf, guests can unwind in a beachside yoga class, stretching tired muscles and easing the mind. For the girls and ladies that like the idea of being pampered at the waters edge, Surf Betty’s has a team of beauticians and hair artists on hand providing relaxing massages, beach ready manicures and surf inspired hair designs.

Those with a creative streak can immerse themselves in a variety of exciting workshops that will be taking place throughout the day. From learning the art of tie-dye and creating something to take home through to attending a surfboard design master class hosted by key figures in the industry.

Commenting on this summers festival, Corinne Evans states Last year I fulfilled my dream of hosting a small summer festival that focuses on women’s surfing. Surf Betty’s has allowed me to explore my creative side, express my passion and equally encourage more women into the sport. Surfing is a way of life and Surf Betty’s Festival really captures this. It gives people a taster of what the lifestyle is all about; relaxing on the beach, getting creative, catching waves and enjoying time with friends and loved ones.

Surf Betty’s Festival in association with Animal and The Powerful Water Company is supported by Sambora Beach Toes, Island Feather and Neon Sports Massage.
