15 year old British surfer Ellie Turner from Bude joins the Rip Curl family. Ellie has had a fantastic year winning the English and British Womens National titles and the UK Pro Surf Tour at home as well as a huge result on the world stage taking 4th place in the ISA World Junior Championships. Ellie also took out the win at the Rip Curl Grom Search European Finals establishing herself as one of the brightest prospects in European girls surfing.
“Getting picked up by Rip Curl really has given me an extra boost in confidence. In this first event (Grom Search) it made me want the win even more and I just wanted to surf my best the whole contest. To get the win feels amazing and I’m super excited to be going to the world finals and challenge myself against the best girl surfers in the world.”
Ellie is now also looking forward to competing as part of Team England at the European Junior championships in Morocco in December and after this she’s hoping to get some winter warm water training in Indonesia and Searching around her home in the quality winter swells. “There’s so many Rip Curl surfers that I have looked up to over the years such as Tyler Wright and Im stoked to be riding for them and am looking forward to what lies ahead.”
