The countdown to SurfGirl’s Waves and Workouts Weekend has begun. We are super excited for some sun, sea and of course some epic surf.
Here are a few short interviews with some of the teachers and assistants that will be there to help all weekend with your technique both in and out of the surf.

Meet Yoga teacher Sarah, she will be taking a yoga class at sunrise to get everyone warmed up and ready for a morning in the surf. The class will be an hour long, focussing on Summer Seasonal yoga postures. Sarah has been in the last issue’s of SurfGirl Magazine, if you would like to know a little more about her practice, check it out.
“You know that feeling when get in the sea and a wave hits you and you feel instantly awake and alert? That is what yoga does in the morning just in more of a gentle way. You get on your mat, take a deep inhale, flooding the organs with oxygen, awakening the muscles, easing out the creaks in your body. It feels so good and is perfect before you get in the water”.

Celine is an O’Neill pro surfer and lives in Newquay. She will be joining us for the weekend to give invaluable tips and assistance both in and out of the water, on how to improve your style and technique.
“I will be focusing on helping the girls with their surfing as much as I can, giving them tips to improve their surfing skills and techniques, and catching good waves. There will be Q&A sessions and I will be sharing my fitness routines that help to improve surfing. We will also do some Indoboarding, which is great for surfing, improving balance and core strength”.

SurfGirl’s very own surf instructor and photographer Abbi Hughes will also be there to assist and document your progress throughout the weekend.
“ I love teaching surf technique and helping out in the water to see each individual really improve over the course of the three days. I am also excited to feel the benefits of some sunrise yoga before we go in the sea. I believe this will really help everyone with their balance and flexibility on the board.”
The Kingsurf boys have been teaching surfing for over a decade. They’re loads of fun but they’re serious about teaching you to surf well.
Owner of Kijgsurf Pete had this to say, “We are going to tailor the lessons to meet the needs of every individual. During the welcome talk we will ask everyone where they are at with their surfing and set some achievable goals for the weekend. If there are complete beginners in the group we may split the group into different abilities.
As well as a pre surf beach lesson and tuition / advice in the water we would like to use some video analysis to give everybody feedback when we get back to the camp. The guys at kingsurf have been teaching surfing for 10 years now and guarantee to take you to the next level of your surfing!”
