This summer, O’Neill invites intermediate female surfers to the stunning coast of Sagres, Portugal, for Women of the Wave: a premium four-day surf retreat led by O’Neill athlete Charlotte van Berkum.

Meet your host Charlotte van Berkum

Charlotte is a lifelong surfer, mother, and ocean-lover who chose a different path in surf culture. After competing and chasing results on the QS circuit, she realised that high-performance competition wasn’t her calling.

“I love my home, I love my little family. Surfing to me is not just about results – it’s about the whole life that comes with it. That’s what I want to share.”

Teaming up with O’Neill – a brand that champions surfers of all types – is her way of celebrating what surfing truly offers: connection, freedom, and fun.

She’ll be bringing her full Ferox surfboard quiver, offering participants the rare chance to test high-quality, locally handcrafted boards — from performance shortboards to cruisy longboards. No softtops here.
