1. Summer House

Setting: Set above the sand with beach-chic styled interiors and panoramic views of Perranporth Beach. A mouthwatering menu, hot-shot service and cocktails that are shaken and stirred.

Vibe: A refined but rustic beach feel. Perfect for a special occasion but equally great for a cocktail at sunset and snacks with your girlfriends. Lively but not loud or overcrowded. Their vibe is very much ‘show up and be kind’

2. Fistral Beach Bar

Setting: Located at the North end of Newquay’s famous surfing beach, raised above the sea and sand for those perfect vistas. You can easily arrive by car with a next-door carpark or straight out of the surf and into a sunset session.

Vibe: This place brings the Ibiza feels to Cornwall. A vibrant and youthful vibe that draws in the crowds from all over. Famous for their Terrace and Samba style parties. Mostly a place to enjoy a drink and refuel during the day time but add some sparkle for golden hour onwards.

3. Blue Bar

Setting: Set back from the busy entrance to Porthtowan beach, nestled into the corners of the cliff and coastal path, on approach you’ll spot the relaxed terrace space, with tables a chairs. Head up the steps and into the bar.

Vibe: More of a relaxed and bohemian vibe here, perfect for good food with friends and a refreshing bev. The feel is local, dog friendly and informal. You’ll notice that the decor lends itself to this, allowing for that in-and-out of the surf sand. A casual and ambient space where you’ll just sink into the sunshine and surf.

4. Schooners

Setting: Set above the idyllic Trevaunance Cove in St Agnes. The place almost feels like it’s on stilts. With a cosy and easy-going balcony out the front and a friendly taproom inside. On a high-tide you’ll feel like you’re floating. A stones throw from the surf.

Vibe: A sort of ‘just turn up and enjoy’ place. No bookings but there is always a buzz about the place. The area is very family friendly and popular with SW Coast Path hikers. Definitely one for those that like a drink paired with their food. Verdant Brewing putting out a magic menu of freshly fired pizzas and a cold one to go with it.

5. Holywell Beach Bar

Setting: Sat on the edge of Holywell Bay Beach as you approach the wild walk to the open coastline. The setting hosts a lot of open space and looks out on to the maram grass dunes. In the summer months you can see the sunset.

Vibe: Family friendly, with easy options to order food and drink. A less crowded beach bar option. The large outdoor screen allows for the perfect beach chill whilst you cheer on your sport.

6. Surfside Polzeath

Setting: Very much on Polzeath Beach. Walk out to the ocean and bear right. You’ll see the ramshackle bar tucked away and perhaps even hear the sound of those cocktail shakers. Surfside, true to its name extends outdoors on to the sand. There’s three floors, some supported with reclaimed timber and all with panoramic views of the bay.

Vibe: Laid back quality that attracts a bouji bustle. Surfside hosts drinking and dining with a really fun and fresh vibe.Think locally caught fish and rum delights. Often you’ll find all of the yumminess accompanied by a soundtrack of carefully selected vinyl, live music or the resident DJ. This place is very much a session on the sand.
