It’s sweltering so here’s some tips on how to make the most of these hot summer days, filled with adventure, smiles, a whole lot of sunshine and surfing in warm water. Summer heat, bring it on!

Get in the sea. Let’s face it, it’s the only place to be in a heatwave. Whether there’s waves or not, the sea is warming up so  immerse yourself in it. Go for wild swims, coasteering, kayaking, SUPing, whatever takes your fancy and  washes away daily stresses.

Eat outside. Wake up and have breakfast on the cliff top, have a picnic lunch in the park and BBQ dinner on the beach. It doesn’t have to be a luxurious feast (a salad on the beach will do) but whatever you choose do it al fresco, it’s so much more enjoyable.

Ditch your car for a bike. It’s so much fun to cycle the days away and it’s more eco friendly too. So pack up a picnic and go on an adventurous bike ride.

It’s perfect festival weather. With the hot weather you can ditch the wellies and wet weather gear (thank goodness!). As the festival season well underway, gigs on beaches and parks popping up everywhere, get your festival fix under the sun. Photo: Boardmasters

Make the most of your summer style. Wear less for summer, swop your skinny jeans and jumpers for floating dresses, shorts and slogan tees. And our fave item of clothing, bikinis! Photo: Beach Boutique

Go for a sunset surf. This does require waves and at the moment we’re going through a flat spell. But it won’t last forever! So be ready when the waves reaturn as getting to ride the waves as the sky is filled with golden tones from the setting sun is one of the most magical experiences you can have. Photo: Megan Hemsworth

Sleep outside. Ditch your hot house for a life on the road for adventures is what summer was made for. Pack up the bare essentials and head out for campfire adventures and a few fun-filled weeks on the road. What’s stopping you? Make the most of the glorious hot weather and get out there!
