BOARDMASTERS adds OVER 60 MORE ACTS

Boardmasters festival has even more huge news to share, as summer draws ever closer. Today, Boardmasters is stoked to reveal that over 60 more acts have been added to the line up for this year’s festival. This includes the line-up for The View and The Netloft live music areas. These new acts join Boardmasters headliners Two Door Cinema Club, Jamiroquai and Alt-J for five days of sun, surf and world-class music across two simply stunning sites – Watergate Bay and Fistral Beach. Boardmasters, Cornwall’s own surf and music festival takes place this year from Wednesday 9 – Sunday 13 August on the sun-drenched Cornish coast, tickets are on sale NOW via the website.

Dream Catch Me’ hitmaker Newton Faulkner has today been added to the Boardmasters bill. Newton is no stranger to Boardmasters, having dazzled crowds with his spellbinding folky sets in 2007 and 2010, as well as playing the Beach Session in 2011. Making his grand return and gracing the Main Stage, Newton will no doubt delight his South-West fans with classics including ‘Gone In The Morning’, ‘Teardrop’ and many more. Frances will also be taking to the Main Stage. The Oxford-born singer songwriter who released her debut studio album‘Things I’ve Never Said’ earlier this year. The incredible, vibrant afrobeat electro-funk eight-piece band Ibibio Sound Machine, fronted by singer Eno Williams have also today been added to the Main Stage line-up.

The Land of Saints stage, famous for bringing the indie rock vibe to Watergate Bay, today adds the likes of Lower Than Atlantis, Lucy Rose, Fickle Friends, Formation, Honeyblood to its head banging summer line-up. Today also sees acts added to the Unleashed tent where the party really gets going with the biggest, most banging tunes, including Star One now lined up for Boardmasters’ ultimate party big top. Not forgetting the spiritual home of dance and electro – The Point. With a line-up sure to get everyone raving into the early hours,Flashmob and Carly Foxx are amongst the acts to join the thumping bill.

The Netloft made its Boardmasters debut last year with success in epic proportions. The carefully curated line-up is made up of under the radar and ready to be discovered artists. She Drew The Gun, Saint PHNX, Charlotte Carpenter, Chris Haddon, White Room, Charlie Bowdery, Lives, Ider, Alice Jemima, Get Inuit, Wild Front, Her’s, Secret Tongues, Suzie Mac, Rue, Banfi, Meadowlark, Childcare, Dextric, William The Conquerer, Indian Queens and Mog Jones make up the line-up for this intimate stage.

In further festival developments, today also sees the announcement of Boardmasters’ first-ever on-site restaurant, The Wild Oyster, hosted by chef Lee Skeet. Lee, one of the most exciting chefs in the South-West has worked at some of the world’s most esteemend restaurants. He’s since returned to his native Cornwall. The Wild Oyster will be serving up breakfast, as well as a five-course taster menu, using the freshest, locally-sourced Cornish produce. The restaurant, which boasts breathtaking views from the Watergate Bay cliff top, is a must for festival foodies. Booking is essential via the Boardmasters website.

Boardmasters can also reveal details for this year’s Glamping options at the all-new Cloud Nine Boutique Campsite. Adding a touch of luxury to the Boardmasters experience, this is glamorous accommodation on site. Boardmasters is offering a variety of Glamping options to suit the requirements of different group sizes. There are Pre-Erected Tent Packages, Bell Tents, Beach Huts, Tipis, Yurts for up to six people, Shire Huts and two-person Stargazing Domes in a spacious campsite, topped off with posh loos.
