There are so many great suncreams out there so do your research and make sure you pick one thats got UVA, UVB protection and is also water resistant. Surfers Skin at the Beach Boutique is made for surfers and it works, just make sure you reapply every two hours. It also comes in a handy 40ml size so it’s light to carry to the beach.

With even more styles and cuts of bikini on the market, which one should you choose?

Whether you’ve got big boobs, short legs, a long skinny body or an hourglass figure, our Summer Bikini and Swimwear Guide 2016 has got all the styles covered for most body types. The key is to choose pieces that suit your figure and that will stay on in the surf – so keep it streamlined and avoid any unnecessary ruffles or fringing when you hit the waves. Our tried and trusted tips can help you decide:

• Hourglass figures should go for styles with more fabric around the hips or a halter-neck shape.

• If you’re on the small side, choose a bikini bottom with a higher cut, triangle shapes and bandeau styles.

• With an athletic figure, try a bold print or ruched swimwear to create the illusion of curves.

• For a bigger bust it’s all about support, so don’t even go there with a triangle bikini top or a lace-up swimsuit. Go for an underwired top or halter-neck instead.

• Small on top but big on the bottom? Then go for padding on the top half and don’t skim on the fabric down below.
