European Junior Surfing Championships Set for Bundoran This Autumn.
From 24 September to 4 October 2026, Bundoran in Co. Donegal will host the European Junior Surfing Championships, bringing together Europe’s top junior surfers at two of the town’s famous breaks, The Peak and Tullan Strand. The ten-day competition is organised by Irish Surfing alongside Saltwater Festival and is expected to attract hundreds of athletes, coaches, officials, and fans, delivering a boost to local sport and tourism.
Gavin McCrea of Irish Surfing commented, “Hosting this European championship is a milestone for Irish surfing. It highlights the strength of our athlete pathway and the international recognition of our waves.”
Ryan Vail from Saltwater Festival said, “The event not only brings world-class surfing to Ireland, but also celebrates the culture, energy, and community of the west coast.”
The Peak and Tullan Strand will host the competition, with teams from across Europe coming to Bundoran to compete and experience Ireland’s premier high-performance surf destinations.
