Finals Day of the Corona Open J-Bay, Stop No. 6 on World Surf League (WSL) Championship Tour (CT), has been called ON in four-to-six foot-plus (1.2 – 1.8+ metre) waves at the world-famous Supertubes. Competition will kick off with Round 3 at 7:45 a.m. SAST, followed by the Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and Final.

”The call today is for it to be Finals Day for us,” said Jessi Miley-Dyer, WSL Deputy Commissioner. “It is pumping out there. It is actually looking really good. I’ve been down here for a bit. We all came down early this morning to really have a look, especially since we’ve had so much anticipation for this. We are going to go all day today, 7:45 a.m. start with Round 3 and then all the way.”

The Corona Open J-Bay will be broadcast LIVE on the WSL’s Facebook page. Also, check local listings for coverage from the WSL’s broadcast partners.

Surfline, forecast partner of the WSL, is calling for:

Medium to strong SW swell peaks on Friday with moderate to breezy offshore wind likely. Saturday will ease in size for the first half of the day as wind likely remains offshore, with a new SW swell expected late Saturday and Sunday (although a notch or two smaller than the Friday swell). Decreasing SW swell is expected on Monday. Moderate to breezy onshore wind also looks likely to build through Sunday, easing Monday.
