Rip Curl are pleased to announce that World Surf League (WSL) Sportscaster and former Top-17 WSL competitor Rosy Hodge has officially joined the Rip Curl crew on The Search.
“I’m so excited about starting a new chapter with Rip Curl,” says Rosy. “I think Rip Curl is one of the most iconic brands in surfing, and I’m stoked to be able to support it and give back to the sport.”
A talented natural-footer who surfs daily, Rosy travels the world providing insight into both the men and women’s tours, and has her own unique style in front of the camera. Through her time in the water and on the screen she’s become a leader amongst her peers and an icon to fans of the sport.
“Here at Rip Curl we spend a lot of time doing two things,” says Neil Ridgway, Rip Curl’s Chief Brand and Marketing Officer. “Chasing WSL World Titles with our pro team and chasing waves in between on The Search. “Rosy will fit in well helping us do both. She’s a great personality and has the respect of the surfing community in her commentary role – we are stoked to see where this new relationship can go.”
Rosy echoes this sentiment with her belief in the brand and where it can take her. “To be at events and meet the team of people that make up the brand… you can feel how passionate they are about surfing and the brand, and that draws you in. You want to be on the team and be a part of what they are doing. It was actually a really easy decision to make, and everyone that I have told has been so excited for me because they’ve only had epic experiences with the crew. That says so much about what Rip Curl is about.”
Another big reason Rosy was so drawn to Rip Curl was because of their flagship movement – The Search. “I think The Search epitomizes what every surfer dreams about,” she says. “It’s the motivation to go on a journey, to discover, and be completely immersed in the experience. It’s what you strive for, no matter what your surfing ability. I’m really excited to go on a couple pure surf trips with the team. Hopefully you’ll see me gripping into a couple aqua walls soon!”
In the meantime, you can watch Rosy on the World Surf League broadcast each day from the Maui Women’s Pro, running from Nov 23 – Dec 6, 2016.
We’re stoked to have you on the team Rosy, and we can’t wait to see where The Search will take you!
